State’s Highest Court Holds NYC Liable for Injuries on Streets Without Traffic Calming

Federal safety regulators are proposing that heavy-duty vehicles be equipped with speed-limiting devices set to a specific maximum speed. On Dec. 16, President Barack Obama signed the appropriations bill, which suspended the enforcement of the required 34-hour restart for truck drivers, including two periods from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. once-per-week.
