I. Benefits Of NTA
SolutiOneTM
No
matter what your company’s size, your efforts to comply with
the Department of Transportation Regulations (DOT) while
managing a Drug-Free Workplace program are bound to
consume valuable time and energy. Developing a comprehensive
policy, implementing a drug/alcohol testing program,
maintaining ongoing collection sites and credentialing of a
Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) network or even a small
list of credentialed SAPs recognized by the DOT, takes time
and constant monitoring, re-credentialing and updating. Just
finding and managing multiple vendors to provide these
services can be difficult, frustrating and costly. Here at
NTA, WE DO IT ALL FOR YOU!
NTA
was the first transportation benefits organization in the
United States to have it’s Drug and Alcohol Program
Nationally Accredited by the Drug and Alcohol Testing
Industry Association.

NTA
SolutiOneTM
offers a seamless and innovative solution for employers who
require DOT mandated and non-DOT pre-employment, random,
reasonable-suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty and
follow-up drug and alcohol testing. The NTA random selection
and notification service utilizes a scientifically valid
method using a computer-based random number generator that
is matched with employees’ Social Security numbers or other
comparable identifying numbers, and randomly selects from a
designated employee pool. Services include: collection site
identification and coordination, collection kit shipment and
coordination, specimen collection, shipment of samples to
the testing laboratory, laboratory supplies, laboratory
analysis, confirmation of positives, MRO review and
reporting of test results.
DOT-Mandated Case Management
The
NTA ‘signature’ SAP Evaluation and Case Management
service follows specific Department of Transportation (DOT)
regulations (49 CFR Part 40) as required for personnel
working in DOT-mandated positions who test positive for
drugs and/or alcohol on a pre-employment, random, reasonable
suspicion or post accident test. Case management services
are also tailored to meet the needs of non-mandated
employees who have been found to be in violation of their
employers’ company substance abuse policies.
Return-to-Duty Procedure
NTA SolutiOneTM
includes a
Return-to-Duty
interview to review an employee's aftercare requirements and
follow-up testing plan procedure. Once an employee has
demonstrated compliance with treatment/education
requirements and completes the follow-up SAP evaluation, the
employer must send the employee to a NTA collection site for
a return-to-duty drug and/or alcohol screen. Provided the
results are negative, NTA will provide your company with the
necessary documentation of the
employee's initial treatment/education recommendations
and any additional aftercare treatment/education
requirements made by the SAP.
Aftercare Compliance Services
NTA
SolutiOneTM
offers
continuing compliance monitoring services to employers when
the SAP believes the employee needs additional treatment,
aftercare, or support group services, even after the
employee returns to safety-sensitive duties per DOT
regulation 49 CFR Part 40.303. NTA provides compliance
monitoring of completion of treatment/education, all
continuing care recommendations, the complete Follow-Up
Testing Program, documentation and reporting violations,
case review, documentation and reporting of program
completion and complete paper trail maintenance for up to
five years following the employee’s return to
safety-sensitive duty.

have all supervisors receive at least 60 minutes of training
on alcohol misuse and 60 minutes on controlled substances
