Dear Prospective Consortium Participant
Thank you for your interest in NorthAmerican Transportation
Association’s Nationally Accredited Substance Abuse Program. With NTA, you
can comply with Federal regulations (complies with 40 CFR Part 40) through
the MOST COMPLETE and cost-effective program in the
industry.
·
Fact,
there are over 100,000 facilities that can do drug testing but only 38
have been accredited.
·
Fact, You
get what you pay for. We are the “Rolls Royce” of drug testing.
·
Fact, NTA is one of only 38 Accredited programs in the United States.
·
Fact, NTA is one of only 4 Accredited programs in California.
Here’s the way it works. Included are all the registration
forms, paperwork and information needed to enroll in NTA’s Drug and
Alcohol Testing Program as either a Plan 1 Sole Proprietor or Plan 2 Fleet
participant. Once you have enrolled you will receive a Certificate of
Enrollment. We will order your preprinted Federal Drug testing Custody and
Control Forms. This takes 3-5 days. You will be sent a small supply if you
are Plan 1. Plan 2 participants must prepay their drug tests. Mandatory
Educational Training books can be ordered. Be sure to sign the certificate
located in the front and the statement in the back of the book so that you
comply with the educational portion of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration Drug and Alcohol requirements. You will also be provided
with a wallet-sized card certifying your enrollment.
As part of your participation in the program you will need
to read and complete the Motor Carrier Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy as
well as the Driver Assistance Policy. This would then be filed in your
drug-testing folder of your driver qualification file. After each drug
and/or alcohol test has been taken and analyzed, you will be provided with
the results. These results will also be filed in your drug-testing folder.
Whenever you need a drug test all you have to do is
TAKE ONE OF YOUR DRUG TESTING FORMS and go to the convenient
approved collection site that was assigned to your company from our
nationwide network. It is important to remember that no drug test can
be performed without these special federal forms. The plan also
includes the services of a Medical Review Officer (MRO), a HHS Certified
laboratory and a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) network. NTA has
everything you need to comply with the federal drug and alcohol testing
regulations. The program is simple and the price is low.
Since the percentage of alcohol test requirements is now at
only 10%, you have your choice of 1) paying for your own alcohol tests at
the approved sites, 2) purchasing your own US DOT approved
self-administered QED 150 saliva alcohol screen tests through NTA or 3)
purchasing your own US DOT approved alcohol testing device through NTA.
You still must report the tests results to NTA so that they can be
officially recorded. You may also use the approved alcohol sites for your
alcohol testing but these fees are NOT covered under this plan.
If you have any questions or need further information or
assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact NTA. By filling out the
enclosed forms and returning them as soon as possible, we will be able to
start your participation in NTA’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Program and
keep you in compliant with federal regulations.
Our commitment is and always will be to provide the highest
quality services available.
